Who runs the site

Compare Vet Pricing is an independently owned and operated UK website. It is part of Compare Costs, a small independent UK price-transparency network. It is not owned by, invested in by, or operated on behalf of any veterinary practice, veterinary group, pet insurer, pet pharmacy or pet-care retailer.

The site is not a veterinary practice or a regulator, and it does not provide veterinary or clinical advice. What it does is narrow: collect published veterinary prices, check them, and present them so that owners, journalists and researchers can compare costs.

How the site makes money

Compare Vet Pricing may earn revenue from advertising, affiliate or referral links on comparison-adjacent content, clearly labelled sponsored placements, and direct partnerships, as set out in the commercial disclosure. Where an affiliate or referral relationship exists on a page, it is disclosed.

The site also plans to offer paid data products, such as benchmarking and price-monitoring reports built from the same public dataset, sold at published prices. Two rules apply to any such product: monitoring and benchmarking may be sold to anyone, and endorsement or validation is never sold to the practices and groups whose prices the site reports on.

Practices never pay for placement. There is no paid route onto a ranking, into a comparison table, or out of one.

Editorial independence rules

• Rankings and comparison tables are built from crawled, source-backed public prices. Comparison order is determined by the data, never by any commercial relationship.
• No practice, group, insurer or pharmacy can pay to change price data, rankings, inclusion decisions, methodology or editorial conclusions. Commercial revenue is kept separate from data decisions.
• Corrections are free, open to anyone, and follow the same process whether or not any commercial relationship exists. Reported errors create review tasks and auditable new observations rather than silent overwrites, and are reviewed against a target of five working days.
• Practice-submitted updates do not override crawled public evidence in statistics without review; the two are handled separately under the methodology.

Where the data comes from

The dataset behind the site is built from publicly published prices: practice websites, published price lists and other public sources, plus reviewed practice corrections and user evidence. At the time this page was last reviewed the dataset contained more than 28,000 checked prices; the current count is shown live on the UK vet price index.

Tracked pages are rechecked on a recurring recrawl cycle, and statistics exclude prices older than 365 days unless they have been revalidated. Every observation carries its source and checked date, and prices must pass quality and comparability checks before they are used in medians or ranges.
