At a glance
Eden publishes £2,000 for one MRI area, Stansted £2,050 for a first body region, and Dogwood £2,500 for one region. Their transport, reporting, anaesthesia and contrast terms differ, so these are provider examples rather than a UK price range.
Four earlier provider pages checked 10 September 2026; effective dates were not stated. Fitzpatrick’s figures include VAT and remain from-prices, including printed bands: the upper figure is not a guaranteed ceiling. Source checked 11 September 2026; no tariff effective date is displayed. These are named-provider examples, not a national benchmark.

Ask what counts as one region or site
Request the named body region and the charge for any additional region before booking. Eden’s two-or-three-area package is £500 above one area; Stansted adds £600 per region and Dogwood £500. Those structures matter more than comparing first-region headlines alone.
Sources: Eden Veterinary Referrals · Stansted Veterinary Specialists · Dogwood ReferralsWorked example: two regions produce different totals
Using the published tariff arithmetic, two regions are £2,500 at Eden, £2,650 at Stansted and £3,000 at Dogwood. Southfields lists one site at £2,850 but does not publish its extra-site price on the retrieved page, so a two-site total cannot be constructed. These calculations do not establish equivalent scan protocols.

Stansted expressly includes general anaesthesia and contrast. Dogwood includes sedation or anaesthesia and a specialist report. Eden includes contrast, standard interpretation and return transport. Ask who receives the report, whether consultation and day care are included, and whether laboratory work is separate.

This guide does not decide whether MRI is appropriate or interpret a scan. Ask the responsible vet to define the referral question and urgency, then compare written estimates for the same scope. Do not delay urgent care to compare providers.
Add up your itemised veterinary estimate
Copy the charges from the written estimate for the service your vet has proposed. If a package includes an item, do not add that item a second time.
Enter your own quotes, including VAT where payable. Prices are deliberately blank. Enter zero for a charge that does not apply. Calculations stay in your browser; quoted amounts are not sent to us.
This only adds your entered charges. It does not select tests, surgery or treatment, predict complications, or replace a written veterinary estimate. Confirm VAT and the estimate limits with the provider.
Worked arithmetic example
Arithmetic illustration only: a £1,000 package plus a separately charged £150 consultation totals £1,150. These are not observed prices or recommended services.
Method: multiply each price by its quantity, round each line to the nearest penny, then add. No inflation or unentered charges are assumed.
