The Catit dry feeder specifies pellets up to 9 mm. Check your actual food, including irregular shapes, before relying on it. A wet-food tray uses a different mechanism and should not be replaced by putting wet food in a dry-food hopper.

Calibrate portions with your own food

Weigh several dispensed portions on a kitchen scale and compare them with your intended amount. A setting called one portion may represent a mechanism step rather than an exact number of grams. Repeat the check when switching recipe or pellet shape.

For trays, measure what you put in each compartment. Ice packs help manage temperature but are not refrigeration or proof that any food stays safe for several days. Follow the food’s storage instructions and the feeder manual, taking room temperature into account.

Test power loss and a missed connection while you are home

The current UK page for PIXI Smart Dry product 43752 states that it includes a 58-hour backup battery. That differs from an older global product page describing four C/LR14 cells, so this guide uses the current UK product statement and tells buyers to verify the delivered generation.

Run the intended schedule while you are present, check whether food actually drops, and test how the unit behaves when Wi-Fi is unavailable. A notification is not proof the cat ate. Arrange a person to check your pet during absences; a hopper capacity is not a recommendation to leave an animal alone for that duration.

Compare complete setups in multi-cat homes
